- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tsp green food coloring
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line cupcake tray.
- Mix flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Beat butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk.
- Mix in green food coloring and vinegar.
- Fill liners 2/3 full.
- Bake 18–22 minutes.
- Cool completely.
- Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and cream for frosting.
- Frost and decorate cupcakes.
Notes
- Use room temperature ingredients for best texture.
- Do not overmix batter.
- Cool completely before frosting.
