- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (frosting)
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 2–3 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp peppermint extract (frosting)
- Pink food coloring
- 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare baking pan.
- Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs, vanilla, and peppermint extract.
- Mix dry ingredients separately.
- Combine wet and dry mixtures.
- Spread dough into pan evenly.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes.
- Cool completely.
- Prepare frosting and tint pink.
- Spread frosting over cooled bars.
- Top with crushed peppermint candies.
- Slice and serve.
Notes
- Use room temperature ingredients for best texture.
- Do not overbake to keep bars soft.
- Chill before slicing for clean edges.
