Ingredients

  • 2 cups grated cassava
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk (topping)
  • 1 egg yolk (topping)
  • 1 tbsp sugar (topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare steamer and grease pan.
  2. Drain cassava well.
  3. Mix all base ingredients until smooth.
  4. Pour into pan and smooth surface.
  5. Steam 40–50 minutes until set.
  6. Mix topping ingredients.
  7. Pour over cake and steam 10–15 more minutes.
  8. Cool completely before slicing.
  9. Serve warm or chilled.

Notes

  • Drain cassava well to avoid sogginess.
  • Cover steamer lid with cloth to prevent water drips.
  • Let cake cool before slicing for clean cuts.
  • Best texture after resting a few hours.
