- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot coffee or water
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- 4 oz melted chocolate
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line cupcake pan.
- Mix flour, cocoa, sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Whisk eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla in another bowl.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients.
- Stir in hot coffee or water.
- Fill cupcake liners 2/3 full.
- Bake 18–22 minutes.
- Cool completely.
- Beat butter, powdered sugar, cream, melted chocolate, and cocoa powder for frosting.
- Frost and decorate.

- Use room temperature ingredients for best texture.
- Hot coffee enhances chocolate flavor.
- Do not overbake to keep cupcakes moist.
